How to enable WEBSTART client side logs

Description:

The 1.6+ JVM has the ability to turn on client side logging. The setting is in Java applet in Control Panel under the Advanced tab: 

        Advanced > Settings > Debugging > Enable tracing/logging 

Logging / tracing starts and information is dumped without triggering at the Java console. 

Where to find Java Web Start Log on Windows 

        <home>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log 

For example: 

C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log 

Under Windows Vista the location of the logs is: 

C:\Users\user_name\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\log 


Under Unix the location of the logs is: 

$HOME/.java/deployment/log/
