01105: FlexLM error -8, Invalid (inconsistent) license key using BASIS License Manager version 10

Title:

FlexLM error -8, Invalid (inconsistent) license key using BASIS License Manager version 10 or greater.

Description:

PRO/5 revision 5.00 under SCO does not work with the COMPOSITE hostid format used in BLM versions 10.x and greater.

BASIS does not have a BLM that can be installed or run on the old SCO OpenServer operating systems, the BLM will need to be installed on a more current operating system such as Linux or Windows.

The current BLMs use a hostid that is made up of components of the OS and hardware.  This hostid is called a COMPOSITE= hostid.  The PRO/5 Rev 5.0 does not support this COMPOSITE= HostID.  The following error message is received when attempting to connect to the BLM from a PRO/5 Rev 5.0 session:

Invalid (inconsistent) license key
The license-key and data for the feature do not match.
This usually happens when a license file has been altered
Feature: BBJ
License path: /usr/basis/pro5/BASIS.lic
FLEXlm error: -8,544

Resolution:

UPGRADE to a more current product and a current BLM.  We no longer support the old non-COMPOSITE= hostid.   The SCO platforms do not support the current BLM which requires Java 11 or greater.   We sugget the BLM be moved to another machine that can support the current BLM.
