Special characters in place of the < > are written to the config.ini file upon exiting BEM for BBj 1.10
Description:
The special characters [ $&# ] are written to the config.ini file upon exiting the BEM (Basis Enterprise Manager) when using the Pro5 data server syntax in the path for the DATA and DICTIONARY in the Databasese Configuration under some operating systems:
Data Files:/<server,port=1100>/usr/path/data/
Dictionary Files:/<server,port=1100>/usr/path/bbdict/
This will cause the connectivity to the Pro5 Data Server to fail. The special characters [ $&# ] replace the < > symbols uses to reference the Pro5 Data Server hostname.
Resolution:
The config.ini file may be modified with any text editor to correct the pathing information:
