Netware client GPF's when trying to check out a license under NOVELL 5.0

Description:

Window 95/98 workstations using older Novell client kits may cause VPRO5 to GPF: 

VPRO5 caused an invalid page fault in module MSVCRT.DLL 

This behavior may occur when it attempts to request a license from the Basis.nlm installed on a Novell Netware 5 server running IPX/SPX. This behavior has been reported with rev 2.5 of the Novell client kit. Unloading the Basis.nlm will cause the workstation to receive a Flexlm error but does not result in a GPF. 

Resolution:

Upgrade to the latest Netware client kit for windows 95/98. Version 3.1 was the current REV at the time of this article The latest client kits are available at Novell's website:
