Description:

The following error will typically occur when invoking Pro5 under Unix when the incorrect media has been downloaded or installed for the operating system: 

dynamic linker ./pro5b cannot open usr/lib/libsocket.so.2 

Resolution:

One way to confirm that the correct media has been loaded is by doing the stings command on the pro5u, pro5ub or pro5 executable: 

strings pro5 |grep -i port 

The name of the executable for the data server is pro5.server or pro5u.server. 

Listed below are some common Unix commands to verify the operating system level, check with your system administrator for correct command for your particular operating system: 


uname -X 
uname -a 
oslevel
