This document provides information pertaining to this release of
Visual PRO/5. There are two other important reference
files for this release.
relnotes.txt -- Lists new features, product notes, and known
issues.
errata.htm -- Contains documentation changes and corrections.

2. INSTALLATION
==================================================================
The .exe file available from the BASIS FTP site is a self-
extracting ZIP file. Unzip the file into a temporary directory,
and run the installation by executing SETUP.EXE.
===WINDOWS 3.11 REQUIREMENTS===
Prior to installing Visual PRO/5 on Windows 3.1 or 3.11, win32s.dll
version 1.30C must be installed onto the target machine. The latest
version of this file can be downloaded from the Microsoft FTP site.
The compressed file is about 1.8 MB.

===WINDOWS NT REQUIREMENTS===
On Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0, the Setup program will exit if the
appropriate Service Pack has not been installed on the target
machine. These Service Packs are available from the Microsoft FTP
site:

Users outside the United States can refer to a list of alternative
code pages in the /bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes directory.
Users within the United States can follow the directions below.
Windows NT 3.51 Service Pack 5 ---

Select the i386 directory and the sp5_351i.exe file, which is
compressed to approximately 13 MB.
Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 ---

Select the i386 directory and the nt4sp3_i.exe file.
===ACTIVATION===
The behavior of ACTW.EXE is different from previous versions.
ACTW.EXE uses the registry to initialize the serial number, key,
source, and destination fields. If ACTW.EXE is run without any
flags, and the activation information is in the registry, ACTW.EXE
activates the product without providing an interactive dialog.
User installation programs can then utilize ACTW.EXE to activate
at customer sites without the installer going through an
additional dialog. To get an interactive dialog, use the -w flag
with ACTW.EXE.
