00610: MS DOS and Windows, TCB(10)=-21, drive not ready

Title:

MS DOS and Windows, TCB(10)=-21, drive not ready

Description:

This error indicates that the referenced device is not ready. It has been seen when:

1) There is an invalid entry in the prefix, such as a drive that is nonexistent or a path that isn’t there.

2) This has also shown up when creating a file via the Windows NT Data Server. The NT Dataserver has the concept of disk drives, so if you create a file via the NT Dataserver without a drive designation, it will see if it exists on all available drives. If you didn’t dsksyn the other drives, like A:, it could result in this message.
