KB#00585-ODBC Driver returns an fserr=19, fserrs=-5 when executing an SQL query

Title:

ODBC Driver returns an fserr=19, fserrs=-5 when executing an SQL query

Description:

This error may be accompanied by a line in the ODBC log file similar to:

SQL STMT Error: Unable to open DATAFILE, err=general file system error, fserr=19, fserrs=-5. Permissions error - Attempt to violate host security.

In the example above, DATAFILE is the name of the file without any drive designations, path information, or a Data Server prefix. If this is the case, that indicates that the file's location in the Data Dictionary does not contain any pathing information.

Resolution:

Modify the Data Dictionary so that the file's location is completely specified.
