00513: Notes on PC-Anywhere remote printing and Visual PRO/5

Title:

Notes on PC-Anywhere remote printing and Visual PRO/5

Description:

The printed manual for PC-Anywhere 7.5 is missing a critical piece of information on how to direct the host printing to the remote PC. The host printer must be set as ‘RAW’ and not the default ‘EMF’ in the printer setup dialog box.

On the remote PC, the printer driver must be identical to the driver installed on the host PC and must be selected as the default printer on the remote side. On the remote PC, ‘EMF’ must be selected and not ‘RAW’ in the printer setup dialog box.

We used a IBM Graphics printer driver on both the host and remote side with the alias line referencing MODE=TERMINAL. The font TERMINAL was able to print the IBM graphic characters when printing in ‘remote mode’ as well as printing from the remote in ‘local mode’.
