00344: BBx/4 WAIT function hangs with SCO 3.2.2.0

Title:

BBx/4 WAIT function hangs with SCO 3.2.2.0

Description:

SCO changed the way that wait states were handled between versions 3.2 2.0 and later revs. The SETTIMER call (made by the BBx WAIT command) worked with PROGRESSION/3 and PROGRESSION/4 rev 1.x under 3.2 2.0. However, after SCO changed the behavior of wait states, BASIS changed the way it handled calls to SETTIMER. This new behavior was incorporated into some versions of PROGRESSION/4 rev 2.0 but not others.

Resolution:

To fix the problem, you cannot use an old BBx on a new SCO, or a new BBX on an old SCO. You have to run BBx on the revision of the operating system for which it was ported.
