00293: Installation problems with the ODBC driver

Title:

Installation problems with the BASIS ODBC driver (Pre – BBj)

Description:

The most frequent installation problem occurs when the “BASIS ODBC Driver” option was not selected from the list of available drivers during the installation process. It must be highlighted by clicking it with the mouse; otherwise the ODBC Driver will not be installed. By default, this list entry has a dotted line surrounding it but is NOT actually selected.

When installing on Windows 3.1 or Windows For Workgroups, you may encounter a warning about CTL3DV2.DLL being currently in use, with the options: Abort, Retry, Ignore. This is a 3D control module which is already in use by another application (possibly the MS Office tool bar). The resolution is to select the Ignore button, and the installation will proceed normally.
