How to add new users to an existing BBx license

Description:

Any time a new serial number or authorization number is received from BASIS, it is required to register the product. This includes adding users or upgrades from earlier versions or products. The BASIS License Manager is required for all multi-users licenses.
With Perpetual licensing, you may simply restart your license manager to retrieve your new license.  Another quick option is to use the UPDATELIC verb from a language prompt.
If you prefer to use the BLM Admin or BLMAdmin wizard your users can remain in their application sessions during this process.  Please note that if you are still running the old stand alone BLM we strongly recommend that you update to a more current version.   The current version of the BLM is available for download on the website at: https://www.basis.cloud/download-product
Select BLM from the Product menu.  If your license is not current on SAM please select Rev 19, otherwise select Rev 20+.

Using the Admin or BLMAdmin to update your license

Admin

Run the Admin utility from <bbj_install_dir>/bin directory or select the Admin from the BASIS Program Group. Select the "License Registration" Wizard. Enter the required information including the new serial number and authorization number. Follow the instructions provided on the screen.
When you reach the License Registration and Delivery Methods screen, check the box to “Register and install a license automatically”   This will send the license request to license.poweredbybbj.com and then install the license for you.  No further action is required.
If you choose another registration delivery method you will need to check the “Install a License” and “Start/Stop the BASIS License Manager” options from the main menu once you receive the license. 
 

BLMAdmin
 

Run the BLMAdmin utility from <blm_install_dir>/bin directory or select the BLMAdmin from the BLM Program Group. Select the "Retrieve a License" Wizard. Enter the required information including the new serial number and authorization number. Follow the instructions provided on the screen.
When you reach the License Registration and Delivery Methods screen, check the box to “Register and install a license automatically”   This will send the license request to license.poweredbybbj.com and then install the license for you.  No further action is required.
If you choose another registration delivery method you will need to check the “Install a License” and “Start/Stop the BASIS License Manager” options from the main menu once you receive the license. 
An existing license file on the system for the same product will be renamed to .bak file extension.
